Well underway onsite now at our @beachesbarnhouses project on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. A few catchup shots of site works with burnished concrete slabs going in, recycled bricks laid and large sandstone cuts happening.
The site is a large wedge shape on a sloping shallow rock site. The two separate houses share a strong modern Japanese black barn form and aesthetic coupled with a delicate timber battened front screen facade. The interiors aim to be timeless with modern warm finishes drawing on mid century Scandinavian inspirations.
The two houses share a relaxed garden entry and landscape that has layers of privacy as you enter each dwelling. Whilst they are similar they have lots of idiosyncrasies and different spatial experiences, informed by the slope and natural light access on site.
